How To Start Weight Loss Hypnosis

For some the idea of weight loss hypnosis or hypnotherapy can still be
scary and that's ok. We're all uncomfortable with or afraid of the
`unknown.' And unless you've tried weight loss hypnosis of course it
will be something unknown. So let's get a little familiar with the
process so it will be less foreign and `scary.'

What happens when you `go' to a weight loss hypnosis appointment or
what are sometimes called `sessions? Well...hang on, even before you go
to your first weight loss hypnosis session you need to do your
research. That means find a local hypnotherapist that is properly
trained and certified. When you find someone nearby ask around your
community, check with the Better Business Bureau website to see if they
have any complaints against them. Weight loss hypnosis, like every
profession from plumbing to legal services will have a few bad eggs.

those few!

Ok let's assume you've done your research and made an appointment with
a certified weight loss hypnosis therapist with a great reputation
(well done.) When you first enter there may be some paperwork to sign,

chair. They will ask some questions. First you'll have a short

Year's Eve. There have been no recorded incidents of people being
`unable to wake up' form hypnosis. Such anecdotes are pure fiction so
don't worry.

The whole process is nurturing and non-confrontational. The hardest
part may be, being honest. Now when you're ready for weight loss
hypnosis, you'll know what to expect.

Is Hypnosis for Weight Loss Effective?

Let's face it this is what everyone wants to know if hypnosis for
weight loss works. We like `guarantees' and warranties and insurance in
case things go wrong. No one wants to feel taken advantage, tricked, or
bilked. So of course they're wary about something that hypnosis for
weight loss claims to be a `painless, all natural method' of weight
loss. Especially when everyone knows that the weight loss `industry' is
a huge moneymaking machine that does nothing but make false promises

With that in mind I went searching for some `facts' to share. Here's
what I found:

An early study reported in The Journal of Consulting and Clinical
Psychology found that out of

60 women in the group the hypnosis for weight loss group lost an
average of 17 lbs while the `control' group lost only an average of .5
pounds. The hypnosis for weight loss group attended a series of both
group and individual hypnosis for weight loss sessions that were
specifically geared toward weight loss.

In another study in the same journal the results demonstrated that
after a 9-week weight loss program hypnosis for weight loss clients
continued to lose significant weight over the course of two years.
Those in the control group (without hypnosis) lost some weight but
stopped shortly after the program ended.

One analysis comparing 18 different hypnosis for weight loss studies
found that those who underwent hypnosis for weight loss lost more
weight than 90 percent more than the control group. In each of these
studies the subjects not only lost weight but maintained the weight
loss for two years (as long as the studies tracked). One study
reinforced this when it determined that that the benefits of hypnosis
for weight loss increased substantially over time. The means the
results of hypnosis for weight loss continued to improve as time went
by.

Another analysis of five weight loss studies revealed that hypnosis for
weight loss doubled the weight loss effect of `traditional' weight loss
approaches. So just `watching what you eat' is only half as effective

His wisdom from more than half a century ago still applies today. The
